As Head of Legal at DLF India Limited and Hirco Developments (Hiranandani Group), his ability to manage large legal teams and oversee comprehensive legal functions across diverse geographies has been widely acclaimed. From corporate governance and regulatory compliance to litigation strategy and land acquisition, Mr. Bhat has consistently demonstrated an ability to operate at the highest levels of corporate decision-making.
As General Counsel and Head Legal at IREO Real Estate, he managed legal affairs for a multi-billion-dollar private equity-backed real estate enterprise. His tenure at Intrepid Capital Partners further showcased his international capabilities.
Mr. Bhat has handled complex cross-border arbitrations involving claims exceeding hundreds of millions of dollars across multiple jurisdictions, including the UK, Singapore, and Mauritius.
In the early years of his career, Mr. Bhat established and led his own law practice, where he represented a wide array of public sector undertakings, banks, and large corporations. Notably, he served as Senior Central Government Standing Counsel, a prestigious appointment conferred by the Government of India, during which he handled over 15,000 cases across various courts, including the Supreme Court of India. His advisory role extended to key government offices, reflecting the trust placed in his legal judgment on matters of national importance.
